Being the third record from Washington D.C. based experimentalist "The Flowers", Ritalin and Mahogany strikes a different chord than Garcia's Freshman and Sophomore releases that were much more 'beat' driven.
This composition is raw and really defines the catharsis experienced through much of its creation. The melodies on this record are ear piercing and the aggressive bass shatters the levels until some of the compositions depict hazy and noise blurred landscapes. Tracks 1-6 emulate the anxious, and intense "on your toes" feeling associated with an amphetamine come-up and the remaining tracks are densely reverberous, ambient, dark, and ethereal.
